The New Road Triangle in Feltham, West London, is the site of a new 176 unit council housing development on a half-acre site.
One of the key features of the development is a focus on delivering local environmental benefits, including 70% carbon reduction and a 50% increase in Biodiversity, created by the landscaping and planting surrounding the housing and the river banks.
We helped the developers to overcome local resistance to the scheme by using the construction hoardings as a platform for them to celebrate the benefits that it will bring to the future and existing communities, focusing on the improvements to the surrounding environment and biodiversity.
A 100m long section of the hoardings runs alongside the Longford river footpath, which is well used by families and local residents going to the town centre, train station and the local sports fields.
We used that stretch of hoardings to illustrate the improvements to biodiversity and leisure facilities and help to encourage community engagement by adding facts and information about the different trees, plants and other elements that are included in the scheme, and how they fit into the local ecosystem.
